I am looking for information on analyzing cell culture media for monoethanolamine. I am having trouble extracting it from the media due to the many other amino acids etc. in the media. I am limited to using a GC instead of HPLC for analysis also.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

This won't be pretty (you'll wind up with 2 derivatives), but you could try:
100% polyethylene glycol (Stabilwax-DA, Restek) 15m x 0.25 mm x 0.25um film
60c(2 min), then 10C/min to 240C (10 min hold)
FID detector, 2 uL injection
Derivatize ethanolamine with acetic anhydride. Whether this will work with your matrix is anybody's guess -- good luck!
