It would be interesting to share experience on injection solvent effect on GC chromatogram in GC method development.
I'm using ion trap GC-MS for amino-acid analysis.
After sililation of hydrolyse with 40ul MTBSTFA and 10ul DMFA as a solvent I dilute reaction mixture with isooctane 1:5. If dilution is made by DMFA I have very noisy baseline. I will be thankful for references on injection solvent effect on chromatogram.

Try adding cyclohexane to your silylation mixture instead of diluting with isooctane. The silyl compounds will be transfered to the cyclohexane phase.
