Hi
I'm looking at possibilities for in line GC analysis. I need to sample a liquid stream several meters away from the GC, analyse a sample and provide data to a control system.
Are there any companies who deal with this kind of setup or do you have any experience of this kind of thing?
Thanks
Phil

I would look into two directions :
1- most of the GC makers should be able to provide a solution based on a loop and valve system; ask them.
2- CTC (www.ctc.ch) has a system based on a circulation cell from which their CombiPAL autosampler takes samples and inject them in the GC (CombiPAL software is in some way compatible with most of Chromatography softwares).

You need a sampling system which will give you an authentic sample of the liquid stream in a vaporized form. This is not a do-it-yourself project. Get expert help.
Two companies come to mind immediately:
Siemens Applied Automation
500 W. Highway 60
Bartlesville, Ok 74003
ABB
843 N. Jefferson St.
Lewisburg, WV 24901

I should add.
The sample is approx 95% ethanol with water and other alcohols.
Standard liquid phase injection is what I want, its getting the sample into the GC which will be the difficult bit.
