Trying to do some development work which involves 5890 GC and ALS. I have all manuals except RS-232 comm board in ALS controller. Any help is appreciated.

Need more information; is 5890A or 5890 series II? Is ALS 7673 or 7671-type? How is the ALS to be controlled: computer, 3388A integrator, control box, or whatever. I have all those types of units, and all the associated manuals, but I'm not very "computer-literate", what does this RS-232 connect to?

I have developed software/hardware that controls several on-line GC analyzers. I have made a provision for the use of a 7673A ALS and the controller to inject standards directly into the analyzer. I want to control the ALS from within my software. I need the command codes to do this. I had a manual years ago for the RS-232 communication board mounted in the 7673A controller. It listed the command codes. RS-232 is a communication protocol in this case to allow computer instrument control of GC, ALS, etc. The RS-232 cable(s) connect from PC computer to 5890 GC and/or 7673A ALS controller.

Hello David. I have developed specific software for chromatography and I need RS232 commands for ALS and chromatograph too. May be we can begin mutually beneficial mailing? =)
