I believe these columns separate according to size. Any idea where one can get these columns commercially?
What is the temperature stability of these columns? Mol. sieve columns can only separate for example n-paraffins from i-paraffins, but what if one wants to separate i-paraffins from each other and the solutes all have more or less the same boiling point (i.e. vapour pressure)? - thus indicating that separation on a non-polar phase is also not successful.
I think the liquid crystalline phases are also called smectic phases.
I have tried cyclodextrin phases, but with no luck.
