Hi,
I'm measuring N2O concentrations from bottled sediment samples containing anaerobic bacteria on a Shimadzu GC-8A. My standards came out fine but when I inject samples the reading goes off scale a little after the N2O peak. I've let it run for up to 20 minutes but the peak won't go down and I end up baking the column to clear it out. I suspect the problem is hydrogen sulfide. Do I have any options besides backflushing the column?
