I have a problem performing column compensation on my HP 6890 GC.It always have a error message"cannot perform column compensation at this stage",can any experienced GC users solve this problem for me and show me the correct steps in doing column compensation.

How many detectors have you in your system?. If you have two detectors, you must check what detector are you using for column compensation (in "Options check box"). Normally, default is detector1 for column 1 and detector2 for column2. If this is so, you must check that electrometer is "on" in both of them. (Please, excuse me my awful English).
