I started using static headspace GC a couple of months ago but I get terrible resolution. The peaks have a "good shape" but are overlapping. Before using the HS-GC I did manual injection of the headspace of a sealed vial with a gas tight syringe and the resulting chromatograms were very good. What happened? Should'nt the machine give the same or even better results than manual injection?
