In our Olefins plant We analyse C4,s in Ethane / propane Cracking Furnace Effluent sample with DC 200 Chromosorb 20% mesh 80/100 total 24 feet columns. The cycle time is 350 Seconds, Can we analyse C5,s (.1 to .4%)and C6,s (.1 to 1.25%)with the same columns? Detector is TCD.
And if C4,s RT is 300 what would be expected RT for C5,s and C6,s. What will be new cycle time.

Regards,
Athar

A guess, not knowing your unretained peak RT, or the temperature of analysis, is 3-6 times the present cycle time.
