If you are taking it off skin then try diethyl ether. If off a cloth then use trichloroethane or ether.
Alternative ways of taking off the skin are to use
a) cigarette papers - but remove the adhesive section first
b) a small glass block which has a ground face. this face adsorbs sebum and can be carefully rinsed off - the advantage is that there are no artifacts introduced from the glass.
