Does anyone have any comments or experiences with formaldehyde impurities in methanol. We see regularily formaldehyde derivatives when we employ this solvent for the analysis of amines

And the answer is READ THE PMW -IT HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR YEARS. Formaldehyde is formed in the GC-inlet when methanol is used as solvent!
