Hi,
I'm about to tranfer methods from an old Perkin Elmer to a new Agilent 6890. For now, the method I need to tranfer is the determination of residual unreacted monomer in a latex.
I want to recover those peaks : vinyl acetate, ethyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate, styrene and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate.
Actually, we use our GC-FID 8500 from Perkin Elmer with a headspace sampler. We have a packed column SS 2m x 1/8", 15% Carbowax 20M WNAW 80/100 mesh. In the headspace, we heat the sample for five minutes at 90°C. The vpoor is then injected and the oven passed from 90°C to 150°C at a certain rate.
Now, we want to use our new Agilent with a 7694 headspace sampler. We choosed to use a DB-WAX (PEG) capillary column 40.0m x 180µm x 0.30µm.
Do you have any suggestion to help us making our new method?
Thanks
