We have several HP 6890 GCs that are being controlled by Perkin Elmer’s Turbochrom. There is a problem with autosampler runs just stopping for no apparent reason. A run will complete and the next injection will never be made. The GC says the Host System is not ready and Turbochrom says the GC is not ready. Has anyone else seen this problem? And if so, have you been able to discern its cause? I would appreciate any help I can get!

Ken,

I will forward your message to Turbochrom support at Perkin Elmer. In the meantime, do you have up-to-date versions of the Link EPROM (1.9) and Turbochrom (6.1.1)?

I know no one has responded to my posting, but I have feel obligated to post the solution to our problem. It appears as if the main culprit is bad 110 voltage. The interfaces have been plugged into UPSs and the problems went away. Don’t always take your wall socket for granted! Power can cause very peculiar problems!!

Ken, thanks very much for the update. These things can be real hair-pullers!
