Hello,
what detector works best for quantification purpose, FID or MS? I always read that FID is a good choice for volatile compounds, but what about a MSD/ITD?

Depending on your limit of detection!
Fid is good to 0.1ug/mL but MSD is 1000x or more sensitive depending on substance ans selective!!!!
With msd you could identify your susbtance, that's an advantage comparing all other detector.

FID is the best for quantitation if you can get away with the lack of sensitivity.
