I’m trying to use the HMDS-TMCS (2:1 v/v) mixture for derivatization of complex plant matrixes. The problem I’ve faced is NH4Cl is continuously formed during reaction. It’s precipitated partly, but there is a residual amount in the derivatization solution, which at an injection contaminates a syringe and presumably a column.
If somebody has any experience on avoiding this problem, I’d be very thankful to get an advise on it.
