I recently install a 60m column into my GC/MS. My problem is that I have to shoot my standard every few week instead of months, like before I install the new column. The peak height detection keep varying. Since I use standardize to calibrate, my samples for QC keep going off. Any help?

You may have over tightened the injection port nut. Or used the wrong ferrul.

Column position may be incorrect.

apparently there is a leakage somewhere, so check column connections for that with acetone or another solvent
