Can any body suggest me about in which medium I can quantitate the Dimethyl formamide as a residual solvent by GC.I tried with DMSO only.

Dimethyl acetamide would be one solvent you could use. Be sure to run blanks so you know the amount of DMF in the DMAc.

I have done DMSO or DMF by headspace or SPDE (Solid Phase Dynamic Extraction). My detection limits were at the low ppm range with SPDE and high ppm with headspace.
