Peak area reproducibility is poor?

I need help on trouble shooting peak area reproducibilty. My GC/MS is a Shimadzu GC-17A
model GCMS-QP5000. I'm having problem with peak reproducibilty. Any help?

More details might be helpful, i.e. are you using an autoinjector, what kind of injection (split, splitless, ???) detector (FID, MSD, other).

I should have asked what the RSD values are, typically the RSDs when using a MSD seem to be higher than when using an FID for example. Other concerns might be using too volatile a solvent with too high of an initial column temp., not waiting for the injector to stabilize if you are using a gas saver feature on the GC before injecting the sample. Just some quick thoughts,
