Can Anybody tell me how can we assay residual solvent in vegetable oils? Is head space analysis on GC reliable? Please help. Thanks.

Static headspace will be very accurate and reproducible. Add a portion of the oil to Dimethylacetamide (10µL to 50µL.... keep the volume consistent) and use 80°C heating with stirring for 10min. Inject amount needed to give adequate peak size..... 100 to 500µL .
