I am looking for a GC/MS method for determination
of glucose, mannose, galactose and fructose.

Extract with DMF or similar, add BSTFA derivatizing agent, inject on non-polar capillary column sauch as HP-1 or HP-5.

Keep in mind that the alpha and beta anomers of both the furanose and pyranose forms will generate peaks for each saccharide and maybe another peak resulting from the ring open species is a possibility too. In other words, silylation without previous treatment of the sugars will be a messy situation. If you absolutely must do the determination by GC, the de facto standard seems to be the alditol acetate method. See Crowell and Burnett, Anal. Chem., Vol. 39, 121 (1967)for a description of this sample preparation. Anion exchange or the use of a lead column (both utilize LC) seem to be the 2 most widely accepted ways of doing these sugars. See Davis, J. Wood Chem. Technol., Vol 18, 235(1998) and Pettersen et al., J. Chromatogr. Sci., Vol 22, 478 (1984) respectively.
