Hi,

1. Does anyone know about any free software or program on the net that could help calculate the pKa of a given structure?

2. Do you think ammonium bicarbonate is a "volatile-enough" buffer used in MS analysis? Will the drug be sticking onto the MS if the buffer is not volatile enough?

Thank you!

Ammonium bicarbonate is volatile - NH3 - H2O - CO2 - no problem. The drug is not going to stick to the MS system, only the buffer, if it is not volatile enough.

For question 1 - try some (free) software at: http://www.acdlabs.com/
