Is it possible to analyse phenol by GC/MS without derivatization? If yes, could somebody give of an example of GC conditions, please? I started a programmed run with an initial temperature of 60 and a solvent delay time of 6 min. No peak apeared. Maybe the solvent delay time was too long?

Starting temperature was probably too high and delay was probably too long. Without column dimensions, flow rate, phase, impossible to tell. Base peak in phenol mass spec will be 94.

The column was DB-5MS 30 x 0,25 x 0,25, carrier helium at 15 psi (constant pressure). By the way, what should be a typical limit of detection for GC/MS analysis of phenol and typical range for calibration?
