We have experienced 4 power failures here in the last 2 weeks (No, I'm not in California ;) ). Anyway, this is very hard on our GC-MS. Especially, the turbo pump and GC column. Can anyone recommend a UPS that they are currently using in the lab for their GC-MS instruments? A vendor name and/or model number would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, our IT dept. has not been very helpful with recommending something!

We currently have a Smart UPS 2200 (Model: SU2200NET) by APC (www.apcc.com) running on our Varian Saturn 2000 GC/MS system and it has worked fine for the last 2 years. Not sure on cost, couldn't find invoice.

We back up a PE and an Agilent (no mass spec)on a Matrix 5000 also made by APC.
