Dear all,
I am wondering if anyone has the experience in choosing LC columns used in LC/MS or LC/MS/MS. Any particular parameters to consider? Any brand of column performs satisfactorily in LC/MS or LC/MS/MS conditions.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Uberto

If you require RP-phase material, the XTerra MS C8 or C18 (WATERS, Milford) will do fine. Excellent precision, fairly no bleeding and long lifetime. I think this material would be a good choice to start with.
Hope this helps.

Thermo Hypersil-Keystone have a variety of hardware and media for LC/MS. These include Pioneer hardware which directly connects to the MS. By eliminating the tubing from the column to the MS very fast and sensitive analyses are possible. The columns I believe can be packed with a variety of medias. Something else I've seen recently is a hardware known as Dash. These columns are 20x2mm for high throughput analysis. Again these can have a variety of media packed. Hope this info. is of some help.
