Dear All,
Can any of you pls. let me know whether it is possible to analyse a sample injected in GC simultaneously with Mass detector & FT-IR.
A single injection in the GC injector should be enough to obtain the results of both.
Any informatio on this is highly appreciable.
Thanks in advance

HP used to sell a series combo of MS and FTIR. They sold the IR detector several years ago, and I don't remember the buyer. Try calling IR companies such as Nicolet and Biorad and see what they have.

I have "for sale" (quite cheap) that very same HP FTIR detector which fits between the GC and MSD. When it was being used, there was an effluent splitter that sent some to FTIR and some to MSD. You could also route through the FTIR detector first then to MSD. One could also use an inlet splitter if desired and run same or different columns. A longer heated transfer line is used to reach the MSD. E-mail if interested. molever@dialcorp.com
