We are trying to run an old VG Quattro on a shoestring! not easy! I have some LCMS experience.
The sample cone is well marked, I have been cleaning it with 25%-50%Formic acid for the past 18months but recently sensitivity has started to fall away(with my standard dipeptide test sample).
How important is sample cone condition to performance. May anything more aggressive than Formic be used to clean the cone and the demountable parts behind it?
Any other tips for improving performance would be gratefully received. Thanks!
