I am using an older autosampler with a cycletime of appr. 2 min per sample (including the wash). Right now, I am looking for a faster autosampler. Can anybody give me some tips where to find a reliable and fast autosampler?

I really like the Perkin-Elmer 200 Series: fast, rugged, and the wash cycle can be finely tuned by the user to get zero carryover (for most compounds). Also the autosampler and pumps are easier for the user to repair than some other brands, in my opinion. This autosampler used to come standard with the Sciex systems. Nowadays I think the Sciex systems come standard with Agilent LC stacks, but the Perkin-Elmer systems still work just fine with the newer Analyst software. Don't just take my word for it. There are many brands of autosampler that I haven't tried!

We are using HP1100, the autosampler came directly with the machine. I am not sure whether it can fit into your system, both hardware and software.

But I love this autosampler, very robust, repeatable, accurate and fast. We usually injection 10ul, the loop size is 100ul, the SD is less than 1%. The whole injection may take about one minute with needle wash. And also, there are a lot of parameters you can play around to satisfy your requirement. Such as there are several injection programs avaible (Standard, injection with needle wash, or your own injector program).

And also you can improve your throughput by overlapped injection.

Generally, it is pretty rugged, efficient and flexible, also easy to repair.

The HTS or HTC PAL from Chromsys can do very fast cycles. Including one wash you can go down to around 20 seconds per cycle. The unit accepts any vial or plate format and also allows sample cooling.

Just check out: http://www.chromsys.com/Products/CTC/HTSPAL.htm
