I know it may sound stupid. But what is a GLC?

GLC stands for Gas-Liquid Chromatography.
It is nothing else than GC.
This terminology comes from the time of packed columns where the stationary phase deposited on the packing was considered to be liquid (in fact rather waxy) at the temperature of use.
