GC is not good for materials which are not volatile or cannot be made volatile; not good for thermally unstable materials.

In GC the carrier gas option is limited (compared to LC where u can play with the mobile phase)

The most common detector (flame-ionization) is destructive, cannot recover the sample for other analysis.
