1.how is chromatography used in modern day medicene/industry?
Chromatography is used to separate mixtures of chemicals into pure chemicals. It can be used for analysis to measure how much of something is present, or if it is present at all, or it can be used to make a pure chemical from a mixture of chemicals in a manufacturing process. Any compound, or group of atoms, is a chemical or mixture of chemicals, including things like pharmaceuticals, gasoline, plants, animals...
2.what is a solvent?
A solvent is a gas or liquid that dissolves chemicals. For example, sugar can be dissolved in water. Water is a very common solvent.
