LC/MS: Fundamentals and Applications
What
does it cover?
This three-day course covers all of the elements of modern liquid
chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS). The scientist who completes
this course will be ready to go into the laboratory and begin running
LC/MS experiments or will be prepared to make informed choices about
buying an LC/MS instrument. Beginning with the basics of ions and
molecules and how they relate to mass spectrometry, the course covers
all the types of LC/MS interfaces and mass analyzers, special problems
associated with optimization of methods for LC/MS, and specific
procedures. It also includes examples for interpretation of LC/MS
spectra and an overview of current applications for this important
technique. A valuable aspect of this course to many attendees is the
detailed discussion of transferring HPLC methods to LC/MS.
The two-instructor format for this course maintains the pace and energy
level over the three-day session. It also provides two perspectives on
LC/MS, one from the standpoint of the chromatographer who is new to
mass spectrometry and the other from the viewpoint of an MS expert who
must learn HPLC principles.
This course is offered several times throughout the year in various
locations. It can also be presented in-house and customized to meet
your precise needs.
