On-line Discussion Groups / Bulletin Boards
Chromatography Forum (http://www.chromforum.org) (aka "ChromForum") is probably the most active, running about 150 posts per week. It has sections for Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, "Hyphenated" techniques (combinations of chromatography and other instruments such as Mass Spectrometry, FTIR, etc), Data Systems, and Student Projects.
Chrom-L Mailing List (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chrom-L) "Listserv" type of groups such as this one (where posts show up in your in-box) have sort of fallen from favor, but the home page has a good collection of links and references.
On-line Tutorials/Textbooks
- Getting Started in HPLC: An Introductory On-Line Course (http://www.lcresources.com/resources/getstart/) from LC Resources. Obviously, we believe that this is the best introductory course in HPLC available on the web. However, if you would like additional information and perhaps different approaches or points of view, check out these on-line courses.
- Analytical Training Solutions (https://www.analyticaltrainingsolutions.com/); from Separation Science. A variety of self-paced courses on LC, GC, MS, etc. at reasonable price.
- High-Performance Liquid Chromatography On-Line Course (http://www.forumsci.co.il/HPLC/program.html); Shulamit Levin. Also check out the rest of this site; lots of useful information and links about chromatography as well as about chemistry in general.
- Basic Liquid Chromatography (http://hplc.chem.shu.edu/HPLC/index.html); Yuri Kazakevich & Harold McNair. This has been a "work-in-progress" for some time; it is continually being improved and updated. A good, thorough treatment.
- Chromatography (http://www.dyerlabs.com/chemistry/chromatography.html); Dyer Laboratories. This is a brief text-only overview designed to provide background for technical translators.
- Reverse-phase HPLC Basics for LC-MS (http://www.ionsource.com/tutorial/chromatography/rphplc.htm)
- Introduction to Capillary Chromatography (http://www.ionsource.com/tutorial/capillary/captoc.htm)
- Chrom-Ed Series: Chromatography (http://www.chromatography-online.org/) by R.P.W. Scott. From The Library for Science. Reads very much like a print text converted to pdf format.
Basics (for students)
- Chromatography: It's just a box (http://www.itsjustabox.com/); Basic definitions and explanations. Especially good for high school students.
Computer-Based Training and Audiovisual Courses
- Analytical Training Solutions (https://www.analyticaltrainingsolutions.com/); from Separation Science. A variety of self-paced courses on LC, GC, MS, etc. at reasonable price.
- HPLC e-learning from Academy Savant (http://www.academysavant.com/elearning/elearnHPLC.htm) Not free, but very well done and worthwhile self-paced training modules.
- ChromAcademy (http://www.chromacademy.com//); A variety of self-paced courses on LC, GC, MS, etc.

Links to More Links
- Mass Spectrometry and Biotechnology Resource (http://www.ionsource.com) An extensive compilation of information about mass spec.
- Chemistry Resources (http://matematicas.udea.edu.co/~carlopez/index7.html) Heretical as it may seem, there is more to chemistry than just chromatography. This site belongs to Carlos Lopez of Universidad de Antioquia (Columbia) and has a tremendous set of links.
