Could someone explain in short the differences between the two ECD modes mentioned above?

in coulometric detection, the sample is entirely oxidized or reduced at the electrode. In amperometric detection, only a small fraction of the sample is oxidized or reduced.
I'm not enough of an electrochemist to discuss (intelligently, anyway) the pros and cons of the two approaches (maybe someone else will jump in here).

Why do you want to know the difference.
This may help us to answer the question in a more productive manner.
Do you have both?
Are you looking to move methods from one to the other?
Is noise an issue?
