I'm interested if there is anyone that is working with Horwitz formula in the process of method validation.
I'm trying to validate a method with spiked standars in pig tissues and in the step of precision intraday (intralaboratory reproducibility) there is this parámeter "Horwitz formulae".
Thank for your help

As far as I know, the Horwitz formulae is very controversial, since it is based on old data sets.
Moreover these data sets were very not very homogenous.

Horwitz equation is to evaluate "teoretical" target value of standard deviation for interlaboratory studies. It gives you a standard deviation value depending on concentration you measure. Since this is teoretical equation, it is not always acceptable. You can read: Journ. of AOAC Int 1993, vol 76, No 4, p. 926-940 (contains Horwitz equation and some examples) and Horwitz article in Journ of AOAC Int 1980, vol 63, No 6, p. 1345-1354.
