I am new to the chromatography arena and I am using an ion exchange column with HCl as the solvent. I end up eluting the compound with 3M HCl. Does anyone know of a way to neutralize without having to use NaOH. I am trying to avoid the salt formation because I do have to lyophilize it afterwards. Thank you for any help.

A little more information on your system and analysis might help such as detector, suppression method if conductivity and the analyte you are looking for. I assume that with HCl you are looking for cations on a cation exchange column.
