For those of you who are performing maintenance/repairs yourself, what type of parts/consumables do you on site? I'd like to get an idea to see if there is anything that I might want to add to our kit. Any special tools would also helpful.
Regards,
Steve

For HPLC and GC, all the usual stuff (check valves, ferrules, all sizes of tubing, lamps, needles for autosamplers, nuts, spare syringe etc I do believe I have a spare flow cell too, different glass inserts for GC) For mass spec, probe tips, filaments, collectors, lenses, just general consumables. Also good supply of swagelok fittings (can get a nice box of goodies from Supelco).
In the way of special tools, I found its handy to have a vice, soldering iron, metal file, super glue, copper wire, s/steel tube cutter and tube bending tool, flanging tool (although I am using more of Upchurch flangeless fittings now). I have a full set of metric and imperial spanners, some adjustables, definitely a good multimeter for voltage measurements and last but not least, a big hammer (just kidding).
Hope this gives you some ideas.
