Throughout a sample set the standard peak's area count constantly decreases while remaining in spec. (RSD= 0.49%). Does this imply an underlying problem with the HPLC? On the following day the area count returns to the original value and decreases from there again.

Kinde of detector? On-line degasing? Column temperature? Mobile phase temperature?Autosampler/injector temperature? Deviation in RT?

Do you do any cleaning on the column after the run (shut down)? Are there any shift in retention time. Is the lamp left on?
