What are some of the current approaches in peak purity for the pharmaceutical industry? This means of determining homogeneity of HPLC peaks can pass or fail quite easily depending on the parameters set. Any insight into this area would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a diode-array detector? What software are you using?
There are still ways of evaluating the peaks on a single wavelength detector but are more cumbersome.
