Does anyone has the experience working on the analysis of avoparcin, an antibiotic, in animal tissue? I have been trying this using ion-pair chromatography but irreproducible retention time is observed. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

What ion-pairing agent are you using? and at what concentration? Most ion pairing agents take an extended period of equilibration to stabilize the retention time. Try using 0.02% nonafluoropentanoic acid (pH ~ 3.0). I have had good sucess with it, and the column is generally equilibrated in 30-60 minutes at 1 mL/min.

Tetra(n)-Butyl Ammonium Hydroxide works.
