Any advise where I could find the
instructions(a copy would be great)
for the SP8780?
Btw, What happened to Spectra Physics?
Did they disappear from the planet?
Best regards

To answer one of your questions, SpectraPhysics was bought by the Thermo group and became Thermo Separations. Thermo has since acquired so many chromatography companies that searching the the web under Thermo or Thermo Electron should yield the websight for the successor to SpectraPhysics.

Spectra Physics was bought by Thermo Instruments, then merged with LDC.It then became Thermo Separations. It has since merged with Finnigan, and is now Thermo Finnigan.
Doubt you would get any support for the 8780.
Use it is the "full loop" injection. Watch for air bubbles in the syringe(horizontal).
Good luck

Thanks for the replies.
The buildin Rheodyne sample injector has a 20 micro liter loop. I've found a manual and now have it connected to a Waters data module 746. (with the build in LabNet RS232 ports those two items work good together.)
The 746 seems like a nice stand alone terminal controller if I only could get the SP8800 pump to fit in this Labnet hookup. The SP8800 also has a Labnet connector. Any one here that can remember how to handle this with the Labnet RS232 interface?.
Thanks again,
Joe Rongen

You will need one additional Labnet "Y" connector. It just connects into the existing line. Just make sure it has the same Labnet number as the rest of the system. At the integrator, in the file you are using set "LC=8" . This will have the pump print its method after the integration results...

That was very helpful, thank you Anonymous.
I do have lots of "y" connectors, so I connected the SP8780 auto-sampler into this system. Everything works fine now with the exception that the Waters 746 Data Module only works as a controller in the RS232 mode. I was wondering how
or where one could find the LABNET number for this 746 Data Module. In that manner the LABNET / RS232 interface wouldn't be needed.
Thanks again, all the best, Joe
