Hello, does anyone know of a way to check "lamp energy" or "lamp usage" through the "game-boy" controller for this detector? I'm trying to determine if my lamp is bad.
Naturally, I made a call to Agilent...but they're pretty slow, so I thought I'd check here(and of course, I can't find a manual).
Thanks
MIke

this detector compensates for decreasing lamp output by increasing the voltage to the lamp so you can only check that both numbers are almost equal.
discard the lamp after 2000hrs, so a noise check to determine if your lamp is still good.
p.s. (I've found if you call the control module "gameboy" they are very sensitive to that)

Mike,
You can run an intensity test, like with ChemStation the problem is that is does not analyze the results and give you pass/fail results.
We are changing our operating SOP on systems using the control module. We will be performing a startup check of the VWD total counts. I think you get at this via View/System/VWD. The total counts should be around 500,000. Once we get a lamp old enough that a system will not pass the noise test we will determine the detector total counts and set an appropriate spec.
