Dear all,
I am wondering if anyone has the experience in analysing beta-lactams with pre-column derivatization by 1,2,4-triazole and mercuric chloride. We follow the procedure as per the journal article (J. Chrom. B 694, 383-91,1997 and JAOAC Int., 81(6),1998). The derivatization procedure is very straightforward, but we sometimes fail in generating the derivatized products of beta-lactams. Do I miss something which is important during the derivatization step? Please advise.
