Does anyone have knowledge of a HPLC assay method using ultra-violet/visible detectors for gentamicin sulphate? The method should also be able to separate gentamicin main components from methyl and propylparaben.

Thanks in advance.

You might start with the USP monograph for Gentamicin Sulfate, following the "content of gentamicins" section. I've used this method a few times with good success. However, the runs are long . . about 75 min, but I was using 3um packing. I would suggest strongly finding a 5um size to cut down on run time. This method separates the four components of gentamicin, but I have no idea if your parabens will resolve. Try it!
