For semie prep LC,
What is the best solution, ready to use column or columns packed by the user ?
If ready to use column, which is the one for reverse phase ?

For good scale-up work, both columns (analytical and semipreparative) packed-by-the-user must be checked in order to evaluate equilibrium and diffusion parameters before any separation.
There are a lot of ready-to-use columns on analytical and semipreparative scales that present similar properties. Contact HPLC columns representatives for reversed phase.
For a good work on semipreparative purposes, linear scale-up is great from these columns. By this way, chromatographic profiles, retention and efficiency are identical.
Non-linear works from these columns are also easy. For this purpose, equilibrium and diffusion parameters must be checked only analytical column and the scale-up can be calculated to semipreparative column varying dimensions, particle diameters and flow.
