We routinely monitor our chromatography at 214nm, but I am constantly being warned about things interfering at this wavelength. I am aware that peptide bonds show up at this wavelength, but what interferes? Is there a reference or website that gives information on interfering substances, and is there a better wavelength for monitoring protein solutions?

The interferences are come from the UV cut offs for the mobile phase you use. You didn't specify what your mobile phase is so I could not help you with that respect.
Look at the spectrum of each individual peak from 200 - 400 nm and determine which is the best lambda for your detection.
