I am trying to install an old HP-IB 82335
IEEE-488 interface card into my PC in order
to communicate with my HPLC. But I could
not find a windows driver for it. If someboy
has it or similar driver, please let me
know (ndzhu@yeah.net). I'll appreciate your
help.
Who knows that if there is any place where
I can buy a new or used IEEE-488 (GPIB or
HP-IB) card with driver?
Thanks a lot!

The HP-IB card uses a superset of the IEEE-488 instruction set, so it will work correctly only with the proper HP driver. I don't recall the model numbers, but the older 8 bit boards were simple to install and configure. The newer 32 bit boards were a real problem to get up and communicating, primarily because if you followed the instructions in the manual that came with the board you had a setup that would not work. The read me or help files on the driver CD had the proper instructions to configure the board correctly.
You must have an HP board to communicate with the HPLC. A generic IEEE-488 will not work. Things were so bad for a while that HP supported the interface on only certain HP computers, and would not support the board if it was not on the approved PC list, even if was a HP PC.
Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your explanation.
I found this card from our stockroom. No mannual
or driver along with it. A few minutes
ago, I found the driver for win95. But
after I install Waters Millennium Chromatography
Manager 3.05.01, I could log in to it.
It said "millennium 32 base package option
has not been installed." I did not find
any information about this in help files.
Can you figure this out? Is this software
only compatible with winnt?
