I´m preparing a short presentation according to the subject. I´m looking for references to literature (articles, posters etc.) to find information: Why to go small scale? How this can/could be achieved by novel column and instrument technology? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Where are we today?
Any references and comments welcome.

Lower solvent use, smaller volumes of waste to worry about, less sample needed, possibly more rapid analysis and higher sensitivity. The last two depend mostly on how well a method is developed. Check the list of chromatography links above for info. I would expect that you'd be able to find information on the Waters website (www.waters.com) and others. A general description of the effects of column volume and instrument design may be found in Snyder's Practical HPLC Method Development (1997 or so).
Good luck.
Chris

Also, you could look at MicroTech Scientific, a company that specializes in microbore LC equipment. (No, I don't work for them. :) ) Their web site is www.microlc.com

Thanks for the messages but still more needed. It seems that there is quite little literature available easily where someone has combined this kind of academic or educational information. So, all possible tips are welcome.
