Dear all,

I am wondering if anyone could explain to me the pros and cons of spherical and irregular silica base materials used in LC column. Which one is better in terms of durability and selectivity?

Thanks in advance.

Uberto

For silica, it makes little difference. For bonded phases, spherical is better - more durable. In general, a reversed-phase packings based on high-purity silica are best
