It is wellknown that the calibration curve for suppressed anion chromatography using a carbonate buffer eluent is not linear. Does anyone know a
theoretical paper dealing with the subject ?

Probably the most widely cited paper on this topic is: Doury-Berthold et al., Analytical Chemistry 57 (1985) p. 2257. Another good reference is Paul Haddad's book: ion chromatography, principals and applications, Journal of Chromatography Library, volume 46, pages 277-280. Finally, another reference showing that the entire issue surrounding calibration linearity with carbonate eluents using suppressed conductivity detection is greatly overstated is: Polite et al. Journal of Liquid Chromatography, volume 10 (1987) p. 829.
