Does anybody make a portable HPLC? A Google search only turned up research projects. A suitcase-size unit would be acceptable, but pocket-size unit would be much better. :-)

Yes,
I saw ads for two different units around 1996, one from Russia and another from Germany. I had actually submitted an SBIR application (not funded) prior to that date with some prototype info to build one (interesting that in less than a year after my submission these "new" products appeared on the market!)......I had spoken with a fellow at Dupont who had actually built one many years ago, but because it couldn't do GRADIENT elution, it was shelved. Most applications were for environmental market, but these days entire mobile labs have minimized the necessity of having a portable unit. They can fit the regular unit in easily, with plenty of electricity to run whatever they need, including gradients. Good luck
